Personal growth is a process of continual inquiry, learning & change. I teach the Art and Nature of Leadership to those who wish to step beyond society’s message into a life grounded in their own inner truth. Through a partnership based in respect and trust, I will help you to see, think, speak and act from the strength of your own inner truth. Is this journey right for you? Below are some thoughts that can help you decide about reclaiming the leader inside you.
| Focus: Our partnership allows you to work on your life instead of getting lost in your life, by focusing your attention on critical tools you’ll need in order to create your path into tomorrow’s landscape. True change comes not from knowledge alone, but from: |
• |
Context: dramatically expanded awareness of the unlimited possibility you represent |
• |
Clarity: new ways to see yourself and your world – clearly, simply, honestly and compassionately; develop a deep sense of what’s truly important |
• |
Choice: a bias toward bold, effective action that offers you the experience of new ways of seeing. |
| Outcomes (*): Coaching outcomes usually fall into one or both of the following: |
• |
Competence: a capacity that endures, thus helping you to navigate your life more effectively and effortlessly. Example: “Live from my growing sense of life purpose, and relate to others with respect and integrity.” |
• |
Fulfillment: a felt experience that what you do, how you live, and who you’re becoming are meaningful and worthwhile. Example: “Develop a sense of calm and balance in the midst of life’s chaos.” |
| Tools (*): Four tools help you know your truth, see clearly, and take sustained action. |
• |
Concepts are new ideas, ways of looking at yourself and your life, that open up new possibilities for action. An example: “Uncertainty is not a problem to be solved, but an opportunity for creative expression.” |
• |
Distinctions are new ways of seeing, of separating into two pieces something you formerly saw as one, thereby allowing you greater clarity and choice. An example: “It’s not life’s situations that cause stress, but rather your relationship to them.” |
• |
Practices are behaviors repeated with the intention of developing competence by incorporating new distinctions into your being. An example: “Sit quietly alone for ½ hour each day (for a month), with no agenda; write about whatever comes up.” |
• |
Self-observation exercises help you become more aware of yourself and of others by rigorously observing your behaviors, thoughts, feelings, body sensations, and responses of others. An example: “Several times a day, stop and note your experience of making choices. Note thoughts & body sensations at the point of choice. Note how often you remember to do this exercise. Don’t try to change; just observe.” |
